Next on the Over the Bars ride calendar (see the menu bar above) is a cyclechic bike to brunch at 10am April 3rd at Cafe Hollander (‘Tosa). If the distance or the cold kept you away from the Spring Classic Series, this is the ride for you. We can branch out to other areas of the City and non-bike cafes after this first brunch.
There is no hard and fast dress code. I am calling it a Cyclechic ride, but you don’t have to dress any fancier than you normally would when you go to Sunday brunch. That said, outfits that might be described as handsome, cute, cool, dapper, or pretty are encouraged on this ride. On the other hand, if you rock the Lycra Spandex look even when you don’t ride a bike, bring it baby. This is also a chance to get those vintage city bikes out (TK and JK), or your super Euro Van Moof (JC) on the road now that the salt is gone. So put off your homework and sanding (KH&JS), air up your Batavus (TT) and join us for Milwaukee’s premiere cyclechic event. Feel free to bring the kids too.

Ever chic, my wife Liz Sunday riding in warmer days. We won't have temps for this outfit on Sunday, so bundle up and pedal over to Cafe Hollander to meet us.
In order to get some idea of how many people are coming, I would appreciate an RSVP either by comment below or email to overthebarsmke (at) yahoo dot com. If there are a lot of people, we can sit at different tables. I imagine there will be a wait no matter where we go, but that will give us a chance to chat over a beverage.
When: April 3rd, 10am
Where: Cafe Hollander

Hmmm…sounds tempting, just picked up a new GT I need to break in. I will give this a kinda sorta maybe, usually I dont get off of work till 3 or 4am on Fri so it all depends on that.
And not to hijack your blog but Saturday is also the Buy Local Bazaar at MSOE from 10-4. A good reason to ride east and burn off those waffles from brunch.
Ohhh that April 3rd!!
Thats what I get for going on the web before having my “morning” coffee.
Dave – have a great brunch! I won’t be able to join y’all as I’ll be enjoying one last day of warm and sunny Florida (well, not so sunny today which is why I’m checking your blog). But I will do a loop on Merritt Island’s Tropical Trail followed by blueberry pancakes, so I’ll be with you in spirit. Check out Trop Trail here – a vid my husband made earlier this month: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3rGGvxrQa8E
Cheers! dW
So you have a GoPro camera in the family?
yes, good call! It’s a new toy, a lot of fun to work with. The rowing videos have been really cool.
I plan to come. I finally extracted a ‘too short’ seatpost from a Schwinn Speedster — a heat gun and brute force was helpful — so I am looking forward to taking it for a ride.
The skys have parted and the seatpost is free, so I guess I will see you there Dan.
