Based on the discussion at the last meeting, Benjamin Halpin, our volunteer designer extraordinaire, came through with another great logo option for the Cyclists Union Local 52, our fledgling Milwaukee area transportation-based cycling organization. I have pasted a couple versions of those options below along with the original wheel logo that some people still like. As promised at that last meeting, I created another Survey Monkey so you can vote on your favorite. Once we pick the final logo, we can start a Facebook page, organize rides and meet-ups, and get stickers, buttons and patches made. Heck you can even get a tatoo if you want.

Please vote for your favorite in the survey here. Don’t let colors or greyscale affect your decision. Try just to vote based on design. We can have multiple different colored and greyscale versions of the final logo once we pick one.
Stickers, buttons, patches, and tattoos may need to wait for a final logo, but I say Forward! with a Facebook Page, rides, and meet-ups. This is the first I’ve heard of this and am excited for it to get off the ground, perhaps a bit overly excited. Heck, if Mr. Halpin wouldn’t mind, I might work part of one of his designs into a tattoo regardless of how the vote turns out.

I like #2, but maybe a combo of 1 and 2 would be cool, like maybe #2 with the orange gear circle and “CYCLISTS” in the color of # 2′s gear circle. This way the orange would draw the eye but it wouldn’t be as bright as the first one and still be readable. Plus I like how the light gray wings on #2 are kind of a cool bluish gray, which complements the orange gear of #1.
Try to remember to ignore the colors. We can change colors later no matter which design you pick. We are really looking for more feedback on the tag line and the two basic designs, wheel or chainring.
I take it back, that idea looks kind of funny. I probably just like #1, since I like how the orange reminds me of orange bike reflectors, and how visibility keeps people from getting hit by cars.
I dig the chain ring with “cyclists” local 52….I dont wanna have Union in there and get jacked by some teamsters for not paying my dues, we could also become a target of a certain Gov!!!
