The new Milwaukee by Bike maps are here!

Oma looks good on the cover watching the fireworks at Washington Park.

Angel Litho delivered 30,000 new Milwaukee by Bike maps to the Zeidler Building loading docks yesterday.  That is 2 1/2 pallets full of boxes!  The County Parks Dept. came to get their share and we are storing our stock behind the bike parking area in our building. Anyone dying to get their hands on one can pick  one up from the Milwaukee County Parks administration offices on Watertown Plank Road (location noted on the map) or the Zeidler Municipal Bldg., 841 N Broadway either from either maps counter on the 8th floor or my office on the 9th floor.  You can also view PDF versions of the map here.

There are 300 maps in each box. You can see about half of the total order resting behind the bike parking area in the municipal building. Milwaukee County Parks has the remainder of the maps for distribution.

I have already delivered maps to Wheel and Sprocket and to Bens Cycle.  I will try to get maps to the other shops and the libraries in the area later today and early next week. People who live in town will be able to pick up maps at those locations by next Tuesday. Call your local shop or library before you go there to see if they have their supply yet.  If you are a reader who lives outside Milwaukee County and you want a map, I can mail you a map if you email me at work: david.schlabowske (at) The maps look really good.  I did not find a really obvious mistake immediately upon opening the map, which is  a good sign.  I am sure we will find a couple small errors, but that is no big deal.  My great thanks to all the OTB readers who helped review the maps.

I’m so glad. The previous map was without a doubt one of the most useful maps of Milwaukee I’ve ever had, and helped immensely in orienting my husband to the city when he moved here from Kenosha. So looking forward to the new and improved version.

    Thank you!

Is the map available online anywhere?

Yes indeed, but as pdfs not interactive map yet. I want to do a google mashup or google api thing, but have not got to it yet. You can find the very large PDFs on the maps page at our city bike info site: Direct link to maps here:

Love the cover photo! Can the UECs get a stack? I’m happy to transport them between centers if you’re able to drop some off at one on your travels.
