Scott Get Up and Ride Challenge

As I mentioned in my previous post, next week is bike to work week and Scott Papers has partnered with the Bicycle Federation to try to log 1,000,000 miles biking in Wisconsin as part of their Scott Get Up and Ride Challenge.  Amanda from the Bike Fed recently sent out this more detailed information (see below) about the Challenge and the prizes you can win.  She also included some instructions on how to sign up.

Hello Challengers!

Congratulations on completing your first two weeks of the Wisconsin Bike Challenge! Over 3,800 people are now participating in the Challenge. Already, we’ve biked over 165,000 miles and burned over 3,000,000 calories. That’s a lot of bicycling!

As you may know, Bike To Work Week is just around the corner on June 6 – 10 for many communities across the state. Let’s show our employers and state leaders just how much bicycling can happen in just one week!

I challenge all of you to collectively bicycle 200,000 miles next week during Bike To Work Week!

To help us reach our goal, we’re hosting a special prize give-away at the end of Bike To Work Week. 300 Challenge participants will win bike products through our special Bike To Work Week giveaway! You have to log trips/miles at least once during Bike To Work Week to be eligible. The more you bike during Bike To Work Week, the more points you’ll have entered towards the prize drawing. The more points you generate, the greater your chance of winning one of these special Bike To Work Week Giveaway prizes:

Thanks to our generous friends at Schwinn, we will give away a 700C 21 speed Schwinn Discover city bike!

Our friends at Planet Bike are donating LOTS of fun bike accessories:

280 pairs of Planet Bike Trippy Grips

8 Planet Bike Escape Pods

Don’t forget, we will also be conducting our monthly prize giveaways through September. Click here for a list of our fabulous monthly prizes (first monthly prize give away for May and June is July 1). You won’t want to miss out on our Bike Challenge Grand Prizes, including a Trek bicycle (donated by our friends at Trek).

Make sure your fellow employees don’t miss out on the hundreds of prizes being given away. It’s definitely NOT too late to invite more people to be on your teams. Remember, teams can have up to 10 members. Click on “My Team” in the system to invite people to join your team.

I have attached our User Guide to help you understand how to log miles and use the system.

Good luck with the Challenge and happy biking!
