Flying Pigeon, a love story

This wonderfully shot video from the Yu Lu agency in Canada distills the cyclechic ethos down to its purest elements: regular clothes, an inexpensive but well equipped commuter bike, and the connectedness a person feels with their surroundings when riding a bicycle.  Then it adds a little bit of velocupid’s magic.

This may still be advertising and part of our consumer society, but they sure did it right by me.  It hits all my buttons.  If I didn’t have a Dutch bike in the garage and a wife I fall more in love with every day, I would be running down to Ben’s Cycle on Milwaukee’s south side or over to Yellow Jersey on State St. in Madison to buy a Flying Pigeon.

  1. I’ve looked into Flying Pigeons.

From what I’ve read, they’ve got some build quality issues but can be fun to work on and modify a bit.

    Lovely video though.

Yeah, they are a bit poorly constructed, but I guess that is why they are so inexpensive. Still, probably billions of people ride them since they are one of the primary bikes in India and China.
