What I like: Kate Spade Bicycle and Accessories

Bikes and two of my favorite designers, whats not to like? In 2008 and 2009 Cynthia Rowley got a lot of attention when put her designer cruiser bikes in her runway shows.  Now Kate Spade and Adeline Adeline, the adorable bike store in Manhattan, have teamed up to offer a cool City bike and a bunch of fashionable bicycle accessories. It seems fitting that Spade took her cue from the 1960s ad in Women’s Day magazine, but added her signature Kodachrome Kate styling.

The limited edition bikes will be available beginning April 7th and is priced at $1,100.  It appears to be an Abici Gran Turismo painted a sunny Kate Spade shade of green with a few functional accessories added. Be sure to check out some of her bags designed for bicycles on the Adeline Adeline store website designed and the awesome video featuring Greta Eagen, founder of the ecofashion blog Fashion Me Green.

I’m in sunny Pasadena Ca and just saw one of these bikes in one Kate Spade stores located in town. They said the bike was brought in 10 minutes after being placed in the window. It is interesting they choose a brooks saddle- where it looks nice but the break-in time is a bit hard for the rider for a get around bike.

I’m glad to see this featured and also any encouragement to get women to bike. This bike looks perfect for me to bike with a skirt 🙂

I think Brooks saddles are pretty great on very upright bikes like this one.

I just looked thru my MUTCD and didn’t see a page that listed rainbow stripe bike lanes. You should look into those for MKE, people would definately notice what looks like a giant piece of fruit stripe gum painted on the road!!
